New webpage tommorow!!!

The past month was the month of creative decisions.

After few presentations of the teaser (the last one is today at the Slovenian RedBull Art of Flight premiere), we concentrated all our forces into the new offical webpage.
Dejan Markovič at Lono.si is the guy behind the design and he really captured the feel we wanted to present. Big thanks to him and the rest of the Lono guys for making it all happen!

The page will be aired tommorow, so stay tuned for the official link!

Educational video "Check your risk"

Winter is getting closer with the passing of each day. In order to have as much fun as it gets, it is important to do your homework. The first step just got a little easier with educational video "Check your risk".
YDreamProduction and Generali released this 40min educational video about ridding the backcountry and big mountains and the risks involved. It is no supplement for a real avalanche course, but it is a good way to start (unfortunately only in german language).
Follow the link below, take a course and do not take unnecessary risks. Wise man say that sometimes is better to turn back and get to ride another day. Be safe...

Pleasure Jam 2011

The season is slowly starting, at least the competitive part. First stop was The Pleasure Jam 2011 at Dachstein Glacier.
Almost whole Unotuched crew was there, but for different reasons. Pristo did the contest and missed the finals just by 4 points, which really was a bummer, while he really had two banging runs. Mitja filmed for Qparks, Maček did some photos for a report in a slovenian sport magazine Adrenalin and Bine was there to chill after the Kaunertal shoot.
Everybody enjoyed the sunny weekend in the mountains, yet daydreamed about some powder in the culoars, haha.

Kaunertal

Check out Bine at yesterdays action on Kaunertal. He and filmer drove there for 6.5 hours , did 3 hours of jumping/filming and than headed back to Slovenia for another 6.5 hours. Apparently he drank loads of Redbull.

California dreamin in Croatia

Matevž, Matevž P., Luka and Bine...this weeks representers of team Untouched headed down to Croatia to check the swell. Luka, Bine and Matevž P. just came from Dachstein on saturday night and on sunday drove down to the seaside with full bags ready for some waves. Saturday evening session was dope despite strong side shore that was holding walls back a bit. Group of boys slept in a van (California VW) and dreamed bout big waves, but the morning was a shocker.
The waves were ok but the wind was strong. So first session was not as good as expected, but after 2 hours suddenly wind stopped and sets were as clean as it gets. There was 5 surfers in the water and boyz were frothing when sets started to come.

Bine and Matevž P. got a wave that goes to a wall. Both of them were riding the same wave and in that moment Luka and Matevž M. put their wetsuits on and rushed in the lineup.

Boyz surfed for about 2.5 hours and than soon as the waves died a bit California was packed and ready to hit the road back to Slovenia. There is a plan to hit the pow line and the surf in the same day in next months. Stay tuned.

Winter in higher grounds

This season is already looking very promising, while we are constantly getting some snow and everywhere above 2000m is becoming colder and colder. On slovenian highest mountain, Triglav (2864m), there is more than 80cm of snow, which is pretty fat for the end of October. Hoping for the best...

You are never over educated in the nature

We already had some pretty heavy snowfall in Slovenia in October, so it is the perfect time to refresh your knowledge or maybe learn something new before real winter hits. Here is a short, yet very informative lesson from TGR for all the freeriders and backcountry adventurists. Enjoy!

September Sessions pt.2: Hossegor

Before snowfall in Slovenia, the storm stopped in Basque.

The waves kept on coming and we did not rest either. We spent latter part of the month mostly in France. World famous beachbreaks offer fast walls and tube time, so it was no brainer where to go when the winds turned offshore.

Pristo and the Ujusansa team were hunting barrels, Mitja did some water filming and Katja took the long lens.

Ujusansa surf camp closed its door in the end of month, but some of the staff and Untouched crew members are staying in Hossegor for the next swell and the QS PRO France 2011, where you can see most of the worlds top surfers ridding Europe's finest beachbreak.

First tracks in the season

As you might have seen the overcast arrived with cold north winds and low pressure air in mid Alps which brought fresh snow in October. Not really a common that one day you surf or ride bmx in shorts and the other day ride pow in area of 10km difference. Pretty sick. That is why my homie Matevž Maček also Untouched project team member and myself tagged ourselves on the hill early this morning to hike up and take first tracks in the season. Boom we did it and also we shred a short but fun line in the shaded gully that was covered with freshly blown snow. Dry and fresh is always a good choice. On the way back we stopped by our buddies, killin it on a down tube. Winter has started legit and we hope to get as much untouched snow this season as we can. Check out the gallery!

September Sessions pt.1: Mundaka

The crew in Basque went through some member exchange again. Maček had to leave for work and Matevž Pristavec came to surf!

Untouched crew and Ujusansa team were very busy filming for Mitja's next years Ujusansa Team Video and scored some great swells throughout the last weeks of calendar summer.

The first big swell was full on mission as we went for photos, videoclips and lifetime memories. Pristo, Andraž Rakušček, Jernej Rakušček, Marko Odič and Rok Debevec rode into slovenian surf history as the first ones who caught some fast lefts of infamous Mundaka, which we had our eyes on since last year.

Change of faces, change of places

Domen has left Basque Country few days ago and Matevž Maček came to fill his place.

We had some flat days at first, which we used for some decision making on graphic design for our new webpage. Bine at home is pulling everything together for the nice people at Lono.si and Cheezy to make it complete. We will keep you updated, its coming soon...

A big swell hit later on, so the crew was on the search again. We cruised the shore from east to west Basque and even did a stop in Cantabria. Orio, Playa Gris, Deba, semi-secret reefs, Laga, Mundaka, La Arena, Laredo... we cheched it all, had some super mellow sessions, some really heavy ones, witnessed few gnarly waves ridden and some of the nicest scenics Spain has to offer!

Hurricane Katia is sending us a good looking swell in the next few days therefore the search never stops!

Tripping Basque Country pt.2

The crew in Zarautz had a very busy week. Lots of sessions went down, while good surf was on!

First we went tripping west with the rest of the Ujusansa staff, checked some reefs, but the tide was too high. Next check was Mundaka, which was on, and when its on, its really crowded, no matter the size. Next best bet was Laga, a scenic gem of a beachbreak, which is always a good bet on northwestern swell. The surf was headhigh with just few locals in the water so we had a blast!

Next morning was time for another dawn patrol, cause we just had to milk the last of the swell and headed north for France. Last day of the tourist season, blue bird and offshore winds bring crowds any time of a day, so we skipped La Barre and Les Cavallies and headed for Capbreton again.
Capbreton is the place to be for morning sessions. Just a short walk south from the main city break and you share a lineup just with two of your friends and few relaxed locals. Fast shorebreak action into a knee-deep water simply made our day...

Tripping Basque Country pt.1

Domen Bizjak, Katja Pokorn and Mitja Legat, members of Untouched Crew, are in Zarautz, Spain, some working, some on well deserved vacation.
The  search is always on, no matter the temperate season. We caught few glassy sessions in nearby Deba for starters, which is not so common in Spain when swell hits.
Main course was a trip to Capbreton, France, full on dawn patrol, but well worth the pain. After two hours of sleep and some chocolate croissants we were ready for the fast shorebreak action near the picturesque WW2 bunkers.

Our cameraman having a LEGIT summer break

It has been a very busy month at Ujusansa surf camp for me… filming, searching, surfing on daily basis! There is always something going on, so you quickly forget about internet, TV and shaving, haha.
But skateboarding is something that never goes off my mind, especially in a land where every single beach is hiding at least some sort of miniramp, if not a proper bowl or skateplaza.
This gem of a miniramp is in nearby Orio, a small pirate-looking town, circa 15 minutes away. At first it looks like it is hardly rideable as it is steep as hell, yet once you drop in is like riding on a wave. Sick!

Interview with Bine / Razglej.se

bine-skok

V zadnjem letu precej več kot prej, saj sam sredi dvoletnega filmskega projekta Untouched pod taktirko Legit films, v katerem bomo novembra 2012 skušali prikazati nekoliko bolj svežo različico smučanja in deskanja zunaj smučišč.
Našli me boste povsod na snegu. Sem namreč učitelj alpskega smučanja 3 in demonstrator smučanja prostega sloga.

(smeh)

Kako pa bližnji sprejemajo tvoje odločitve o ekstremnih športih?
Živim z mamo, ki me podpira.

bine3

So bile kdaj že kakšne resne? Takšne, zaradi katerih se porodijo pomisleki o nadaljevanju rizičnega športa?
Pred šestimi leti sem si poškodoval koleno. Tri strgane vezi, poškodovan meniskus in hrustanec.

So drugačni, seveda. In jaz si življenja brez tega nikakor ne predstavljam, saj pravzaprav hranim šport kot on hrani mene.

bine-skok 2

Včasih pride do napake, vendar nikakor ni naključje.

Včasih pride do precenjevanja razmer izven smučišč, kar vodi do plazov, vdorov, skratka potencialnim smrtnim izzidom.

bine4
Foto: RudiWyhlidal

Pristo won the Qparks Tour Finals!

Matevž Pristavec is still kicking hard!
Pristo got into Qparks Tour Finals on Dachstein Glacier as a wildcard and got on the top of the podium in the end! His win also took him to the third place in the Qparks Tour Overall.
Another Slovenian, Aljoša Krivec, got second for a good measure, so watch out for Slovenian snowboarders in all shapes and sizes :D
Congratulations to both!

Video from the competition should be on on Wednesday so stay tuned...

Val Senales heli shoot

Pristo got invited for a shoot with bunch of Aestheticker guys in Val Senales and Mitja went along to help filming.
It was on two F tech special obstacles, 25m kicker and kicker with double boobie landing. The guys arranged a RC heli shoot, which is two man rig that stays in the air for just 5 minutes so everything is happening super fast.
It was pretty frustrating with the weather while everything got set back for hours because of the clouds. In the afternoon it finally cleared up and the guys were able to hit double boobie jump. Pristo got some tricks before half a mile run-in got to slow, so we are looking forward to see how the heli angles worked out.

The shot of the season

Mitja and Maček went to Kaprun for the weekend and our skier friend Andraž Šparovec from Jibrothers was happy to join. Kitzsteinhorn has just got 40cm of fresh and the clouds kept it dry for days. While Mitja was filming the Ride On competition, Matevž and Andraž did a little scouting and hiking to find something worth filming. The reality of powder is that no matter how late in the season it is, everyone wants to get a bite before the end. The only possible way of getting some untouched slabs was to track the high peaks.
Guys went for the ledge that is sticking out of the main ridge to the Kitzsteinhorn summit. From the side it looks something that Xavier would go for and the snow conditions turned out to be save and deep enough. As soon as Mitja had a break, it was droppin` in time. Maček as the more experienced of the pair got the first track and Andraž followed with a nice line. This sure was the best shot this season and got us all hyped so Maca and Andraž went for some more but a little less exposed stuff...
To wrap the day properly we stayed on the mountian until the sunset, chilling and enjoying the Colby West show on mega special obstacle. Nice!

First track awaits the brave!

Premature end of season

Sadly the resorts in Slovenia are closing, the only one still standing is Kanin and we have a little snowfall on the radar. It is not completely over for slush stuff, although the base is running out everywhere below 2000m.
Vogel, our home mountain closed its doors on Sunday and the local crew was really going for it for the past few weeks. Guys rebuilt the kicker, hit it hard and Bine even got a heli ride to the hospital, but luckily he is alive and pretty much okay for a drop on the neck.
We are glad that Pristo is back. He caught the season by the tail after coming back from his injury, however he is flying again...

 Matevž is still kickin`...

Still trying!

Spring hit Slovenia and with the temperatures up to 18°C it is best time to hit some slush!
Bine and Domen are training hard for the upcoming Oakley Special Obstacle shoot, trying to get some doubles, 10`s and 12`s on lock before leaving for Soelden.
Pristo is injured at the moment so he is just being The Coach like always, haha.
Maček and Mitja still haven`t given up and went to hit some bumps on Sella`s backcountry, which turned out pretty well with Matevž getting some shoots!

Dr. Love is coming to town

Seppi Scholler aka Dr. Love is Pristo`s teammate at Love Distribution and a good friend. He is coming to Slovenia for couple of days to hit the mountains with us. His unique character with always creative approach to spots guarantees some fun in upcoming days. We gonna try to make the best of the recent snow so stay tuned...
